Visual Diary

Due to the busy schedule everyday, i actually rush to draw all these in few hours a night before the submission. LOL
Fortunately, the outcome of still satisfied me (although still have imperfections). If and only if I could have more time, I will definitely draw these better. ( I promised>.<)
architecture elements
What is this? This is an ionic column. I've been gone through and draw this for so many times in my history visual journal.
architecture elements
I choose to draw arches, as it can be function as an opening in building design.

architecture ornaments
this...urghh..I not really know what's that and I just drew. LOL
architecture ornaments
this is actually the statue on the roof of Japanese's temple, which believed can frighten away all the bad spirits.

Lastly, I'm gonna say thank you to my lecturers for the grades and comments given. I do appreciate all the comments given and it definitely do help me to make improvement.

p/s: the images are a little bit distorted because they are all scanned by using phone's camera.

[20/8-1/10] Compilations of Technical Drawings

Finally, it's coming to the last class of design communication 1. And now...It's the time to compile all works that had been done throughout this semester!

One-by-one, following are all the technical drawings that drawn throughout this semester:

for this floor plan...I'd been spending whole day and night to complete it. Time given in the class are way not enough.
Floor Plan
For this roof  plan.. it's way much more easier than drawing the floor plan! This was done by traced the roof lines and exterior walls lines from the floor plan, no measurements is needed, just trace. Therefore, it's easier.
Roof Plan
Nightmares just started...
these section plans and elevation plans are killing me..Why do i said so? It required so many measurements and accuracy.
Section A

Section B
Rear Elevation

Front Elevation
Right Elevation
Left Elevation

the most interesting part of drawing, that's the perspective drawing. I like it because we can decorate 'our own' bedroom.
One-point Perspective
for this exploded exonometry, it took me all day long to complete it too.
Exploded Axonometry

Last but not least, at the end of this assignment, I had learnt of how to draw floor plan, roof plan, section, elevation and exploded exonometry with measurement. I also knew that we can actually construct an section, elevation, perspective and exonometric drawing from the floor plan and roof plan itself.

[16/7/14] Learn from basic- Architectural lettering

Today, we were asked to draw an architecture lettering by using pencil at first and followed by using felt tip pens. Before starting with our drawing, we start out with drawing the title block and lines by using set squares and T-square. This is the first time and ever, I draw a straight line by using T-square. With the instructions by our lecturer, we pasted our A3 cartridge paper on the table by using masking tape so that we can draw straight lines accurately without changing the position of the paper by using T-square and set-square.

The most challenging part in this exercise that I felt was measuring and drawing the straight lines for drawing letters. Despite of the measuring part, I'm very enjoy with the process of writing the architecture lettering.

Architecture lettering-alphabets, numbers

On the afternoon session, we were needed to use the lettering that we had learnt to write a full pages of lyrics on a piece of A3 cartridge paper. Instead of using pencil as what we done in previous, felt tip pens were used.

Besides, the lyrics that I chosen for this second exercise was the counting stars by one republic.

[9/7/14] first day, first task

We were required to draw a portrait of our friend and introduce his/her to the whole class. Soon after that, our lecturer asked us to draw a sketching of inside-out shoe by applying the techniques of shading for sketches.
Portrait of my friend
When we were asked to draw a portrait of our friend and introduce he/she to the entire class, my first expression was like "huh?". Anyway it was really an interesting way to get know to each other.

Shoe sketches inside-out
Before that, I had never try to imagine a shoe inside out. So this is most probably the most special task for my first day in design communication class. It's quite rushing to complete sketching a shoe within 30 minutes and I had done with this still-acceptable piece of art. LOL.

After the morning session, we were given by another task which was drawing straight lines without using ruler. The following are the series of freehand sketching straight lines.
Freehand drawing straight line (horizontal)

Freehand drawing straight line (vertical)

Freehand drawing spiral

Lines drawn from center

Lines drawn from out to in
Last but not least, the objective for this exercise was to train us to draw lines straight and consistently.
